Thefollowingfeaturesareusedinstoragemodewhensavingorloadingfiles.
Directories
Adirectoryletsyougroupfilestogetherasyoumightseparatedocumentsusingfoldersinafile
cabinet.Bydefaultallstoragedeviceshaveatleastone“root”directory.Toorganizefilesina
USBdeviceyoucancreateadditionaldirectories,aswellassubdirectorieswithindirectories.

Path
ThePathfieldshowsthecurrentdirectoryonthecurrentdevice.Thisfieldisdisplayedwhen
loading,saving,orexportingfilesinStoragemode.ThePC3LEalwaysdisplaystheroot(top
level)directorywhenyouviewastoragedevice.
Therootdirectoryisdisplayedasabackslash:

Whenviewingapage
thathasthePathfield,iftheirareanydirectoriesavailableintheroot
directory,youwillbeabletochoosethemfromalistusingthealphawheel,cursorbuttons,or‐/
+buttons.Then,presstheOpensoftbuttontoopenthatdirectory.Thenameofthedirectory
will
bedisplayedinthePathfield.Forexample,ifyouhaveadirectorycalledSOUNDSthatis
locatedinthecurrentdevice’srootdirectory,thePathfieldwillappearas:

Thebackslashcharacterisadirectoryseparator,asinthefollowingPath:
Path:\BACKUP\COVERBAND\SONGS\
ThisrepresentsthedirectorySONGS,whichis
asubdirectoryoftheCOVERBANDdirectory,
whichisasubdirectoryoftheBACKUPdirectoryintherootdirectory.Ifthepathistoolongto
fitonthetoplineofthedisplay,itgetsabbreviated.ThemaximumlengthofapathinthePC3LE
is64 characters(includingthebackslashcharacters).
UsingtheOpensoftbuttoncausesyoutonavigateintodirectoriesandtheirsubdirectories,
awayfromtherootdirectory.Tonavigateoutofsubdirectoriesbacktowardstherootdirectory,
usetheParentsoftbuttontomoveonelevelbackfromthecurrentdirectory.
