Storage Mode Common Features

Thefollowingfeaturesareusedinstoragemodewhensavingorloadingfiles.

Directories

Adirectoryletsyougroupfilestogetherasyoumightseparatedocumentsusingfoldersinafile

cabinet.Bydefaultallstoragedeviceshaveatleastone“root”directory.Toorganizefilesina

USBdeviceyoucancreateadditionaldirectories,aswellassubdirectorieswithindirectories.

Path

ThePathfieldshowsthecurrentdirectoryonthecurrentdevice.Thisfieldisdisplayedwhen

loading,saving,orexportingfilesinStoragemode.ThePC3LEalwaysdisplaystheroot(top‐

level)directorywhenyouviewastoragedevice.

Therootdirectoryisdisplayedasabackslash:

Whenviewingapage

thathasthePathfield,iftheirareanydirectoriesavailableintheroot

directory,youwillbeabletochoosethemfromalistusingthealphawheel,cursorbuttons,or‐/

+buttons.Then,presstheOpensoftbuttontoopenthatdirectory.Thenameofthedirectory

will

bedisplayedinthePathfield.Forexample,ifyouhaveadirectorycalledSOUNDSthatis

locatedinthecurrentdevice’srootdirectory,thePathfieldwillappearas:

Path:\SOUNDS\

Thebackslashcharacterisadirectoryseparator,asinthefollowingPath:

Path:\BACKUP\COVERBAND\SONGS\

ThisrepresentsthedirectorySONGS,whichis

asubdirectoryoftheCOVERBANDdirectory,

whichisasubdirectoryoftheBACKUPdirectoryintherootdirectory.Ifthepathistoolongto

fitonthetoplineofthedisplay,itgetsabbreviated.ThemaximumlengthofapathinthePC3LE

is64 characters(includingthebackslashcharacters).

UsingtheOpensoftbuttoncausesyoutonavigateintodirectoriesandtheirsubdirectories,

awayfromtherootdirectory.Tonavigateoutofsubdirectoriesbacktowardstherootdirectory,

usetheParentsoftbuttontomoveonelevelbackfromthecurrentdirectory.
