Introduction to Editing
Editingprograms,setupsandsongsonthePC3LEalwaysinvolvesthreebasicoperations:mode
selection,navigation,anddataentry.
First,selectthemodethatrelatestotheobjectyouwanttoedit—aprogram,asetup,etc.Then
selecttheobjectyouwanttoedit,andpresstheEditbuttontoenter
theeditorwithinthatmode.
Forprograms,setups,songs,andquickaccessbanks,theseobjectsare“selected”whenyouare
onthemainpageoftheircorrespondingmode.InthesecasesyoucanpresstheEditbuttonwith
anythingselectedontheirmainpagetoaccesstheireditor.Oftentheirwill
bemoreobjects
insideofthese“mainpage”editors,suchasshiftpatternsandvelocitypatterns,andtheycanbe
editedbyselectingtheirparameterwiththecursorandpressingtheEditbutton.Aneditor
containsalltheparametersthatdefinetheobjectyou’reprogramming.
Next,navigatearoundtheeditorspage(s)
withthesoftbuttonsandselectparameterswiththe
cursor(arrow)buttons.Whenyou’veselectedaparameter (itsvalueishighlightedbythe
cursor),youcanchangeitsvaluewithoneofthedataentrymethods.Whenyouchangeavalue,
you’llnormally hearitseffectontheobjectyou’ re
editing.ThePC3LEdoesn’tactuallywrite
youreditingchangestomemoryuntilyousavetheobjectyou’reworkingon.Itthenallowsyou
tochoosebetweenwritingovertheoriginalobject,orstoringthenewlyeditedversioninanew
memorylocation.
What’s an Object?
Ifyouvebeenwonderingwhatwemeanbytheterm“object,”it’sanexpressionweusefor
anythingthatcanbenamed,saved,deleted,oredited.AcompletelistofthelatestPC3LE

Programs Factorypreset
