Saving and Naming
Whenyou’veeditedanobjecttoyoursatisfaction,you’llwanttostoreitinmemory.There’sa
standardprocedureforsavingandnaming,whichappliestoallobjects.Inanymodeoreditor,
theLEDontheSavebuttontotherightofthedisplaywilllightifyouhavemade
anychanges
whichcanbesavedfortheobjectassociatedwiththecurrentmodeoreditorthatyouareusing.
WhentheSavebuttonislit,presstheSavebuttontobringupasavedialog.PressingtheSave
buttonagainwhileviewingthissavedialogwillsavethe object
tothedisplayedID#.Ifyouhave
editedtheobjectbefore,pressingsaveasecondtimewilloverwritethe objectatitspreviousID#.
Ifyouhaven’teditedtheobjectbefore,pressingsaveasecondtimewillsavetheobjectatanew
ID#.
Also,ifyouhavechangedsomethingin
aneditorthatcanbesaved,asavedialogwillappear
whenyoupresstheExitbutton.Ifyouhaven’tactuallychangedanythingwhileintheeditor,
you’llsimplyexittothemodeyoustartedfrom.Ifyouhavemadechanges,however,thePC3LE
willaskyouifyouwantto
savethosechanges.ThefirstSavedialoggivesyouoptionsviasoft
buttons:PressCanceltoresumeediting,Notoexittheeditorwithoutsaving,orYestosave
youreditsandmovetotheSavepage.
TheRenamesoftbuttonontheSavepagetakesyouimmediatelytothenaming
dialog,where
youassignanametotheobjectyou’ resaving.Youhaven’tsavedyet,butyou’llbeabletoafter
you’venamed theprogram.
Thecursorunderlinesthecurrentlyselectedcharacter.Pressthe<<<or>>>softbuttonstomove
thecursorwithoutchangingcharacters.Pressanalphanumericbuttonone
ormoretimesto
enteracharacterabovethecursor.Thecharactersthatcorrespondtothealphanumericbuttons
arelabeledundereachbutton.Ifthecharacterthatappearsisnottheoneyouwant,pressthe
buttonagain.Pressthe+/buttononthealphanumericpadtoswitchbetweenupper
andlower
casecharacters.
Usethenumberedbuttonstoenterthenumerals0through9.PressClear(onthealphanumeric
pad)toerasetheselectedcharacterwithoutmovinganyothercharacters.Press theDeletesoft
buttontoerasetheselectedcharacter.Allcharacterstotherightofthecursorwillmove
one
spaceleft.PresstheInsertsoftbuttontoinsertaspaceabovethecursor,movingallcharactersto
therightofthecursoronespacetotheright.
PresstheCancelsoftbuttonifyoudecidenottonametheobject.PressOKwhenthenameisset
theway
youwanttosaveit.
Inadditiontothelettersandnumerals,therearethreesetsofpunctuationcharacters.Theeasiest
waytogettothemistopressoneofthealphanumericbuttonstoselectacharacterclosetothe
oneyouwant,thenscrolltoitwiththeAlpha

buttonssimultaneouslyisashortcuttothefollowingcharacters:

WhenyoupressOK,thefinalSavedialogappears,whereyouassignanIDto
theeditedobject.
