Saving and Naming
ROM Objects
IftheobjectyoueditedwasaROM(factorypreset)object,thePC3LEwillautomaticallysuggest
thenextavailable(unused)IDastheIDfortheeditedobjectuponsaving.Ifthat’stheIDyou
want,presstheSavesoftbutton,andtheobjectwillbestoredinmemorywiththat
ID.
Otherwise,youcanselectanyIDfrom1tothemaximum.Thispagealsogivesyouthe
opportunitytoreturntothenamingdialog(asdescribedintheprevioussection.)
IfyouselectanIDthat’salreadyinuse,thePC3LEwilltellyouthatyou’regoingtoreplacethe
ROMobjectthat’salreadybeenassignedthatID.Ifyoudon’twanttodothat,youcanselecta
differentID.Youcanalsopressthe‐/+buttonssimultaneouslytotogglebetweentheIDthatthe
PC3LEsuggestedandtheoriginalID.OrpresstheCancelsoftbuttonto
canceltheoperation.
IfyoudecidenottocancelorchangetheID,andyoupresstheReplacesoftbutton,thePC3LE
willwriteyournewlyeditedobjectovertheexistingROMobject.Actually,itonlyappearsthat
way,sinceyoucan’ttrulywritetoROM .TheROMobjectwillreappear
ifyoudeletethenewly
editedobject(therearesoftbuttonsineacheditorfordeletingobjects).
Memory Objects
Iftheoriginalobjectwasamemoryobject,thePC3LEwillassumeyouwanttoreplaceit,and
willsuggestthesameIDastheoriginalobject.(InallmodesotherthanSongmode,adiamond
iconprecedinganitem’sIDindicatesamemoryobject).AswithROMobjects,youcan
cancel,
replace,orchangetheIDandsavetoanunusedID.Ifyoureplaceamemoryobject,however,it’s
definitelygone!
