canalsousethealphanumericpadfollowedbytheEnterbuttontoenteraMIDIvalue.For
parametersthatareusingaSwitchorFootswitchasacontrolsource,theavailableMIDIvalues
areNone,Off,andOn.Youcanenterthesevalueswiththealphanumericpad.
Foravalueof
None,enter‐1(negative1)followedbytheEnterbutton.ForavalueofOff,enter0(orany
numberlessthan64)followedbytheEnterbutton.ForavalueofOn,enter127(oranynumber

Important Note About Values of None
ForallfactoryROM programs,fourofthestandardparameters(Pan,Expression(program
volume,)Sustain,andSostenuto)arealwayssettoNonebydefault.Ifyouchangeoneofthese
values,eitherontheParameterspageintheProgramEditor,orwithaphysicalcontrollerfrom
ProgramMode(ortheProgram
Editor,)thesamevaluewillbeusedforanyotherprogramyou
select,ifyouselectanotherprogramthatusesavalueofNoneforthesameparameter.These
valuesremainsetevenifyoudon’tsavetheprogram.Thiscanbeuseful,forexample,when
usinganexpressionpedal
tocontrolprogramvolume.Bydefault,allfactoryROMprograms
havetheirExpressionparametersettoavalueofNone,andExpression(programvolume)by
defaultcanbecontrolledbyanexpressionpedalpluggedintotheCCPedaljack(seeTheControl

settings.)Withanexpressionpedal
pluggedintotheCCPedaljack,youcancontrolthevolumeofanyfactoryROMprogram,but
whenyouselectanotherfactoryROMprogram,itwillhavethesamevolumethatyousetwith
theexpressionpedalinthelastprogram.Thisway,thevolumeof
yourprogramswillstay
consistent,andcanalwaysbechangedbytheexpressionpedal.Ifyouwantaprogramtohavea
defaultvolume,youmustsetaMIDIValueothertha nNonefortheExpressionparameter.For
allparameterswithaMIDIValu eofNone,anyvaluessetwith
aphysicalcontrolwillnotbe
savedwhensavingtheprogram.YoumustsettheMIDIVa lue columnforthatparameterto
somethingotherthanNoneinordertosetandsaveavalue.

Control Source
IntheControlSource(right)column,setoneofthePC3LE’sphysicalcontrollersasacontrol
sourcebyholdingtheEnterbuttononthealphanumericpadandmovingthedesiredcontroller.
YoucanalsousetheAlphaWheel
orthe‐/+buttonstochooseoneofthePC3LE’sphysical
controllersasacontrolsource,orchooseavalueofNoneifyoudon’twanttouseaphysical
controllerforthisparameter.YoucanalsochooseavalueofNonebyentering1withthe
alphanumericpadfollowed
bytheEnterbutton.
Tochoose anexternalMIDICCnumberasacontrolsource,youmustenterthenumberofthe
controllerwiththealphanumericpadfollowedbytheEnterbutton.UsingtheAlphaWheelor
the‐/+buttonswillbring youbacktothelistofthePC3LE’sphysical
controllers.Also,the
PC3LE’sphysicalcontrollerseachuseoneoftheavailableMIDICCnumbers,soyoumust
chooseoneoftheotheravailableCCnumberswhenusinganexternalMIDIcontrolsource.See
page 770foralistofthedefaultCCnumbersthatareusedbythePC3LE’s
physicalcontrollers.
Important Note About Selecting A Control Source:
Whenyouchangethecontrolsourceforaparameter,thenewcontrolsourceimmediatelysets
itscurrentvaluefortheMIDIvalueofthecurrentparameter.IftheMIDIvalueoftheparameter
issettoNone,thenewvaluewillbeset,buttheMIDIValuecolumnforthe
parameterwillstill
displayNone(seeaboveforanImportantNoteAboutValuesofNone.)Thiscanbetroublesome,for
example,ifyouweretochangetheControlSourcefortheExpressionparameter,youmay
