3(asshownabove).Ifyouturndownthevolumeonlayers
1and2,thenyouarehearingtrue
cascading—it’slikeabigchainwitheachalgorithmfeedingintothenext,andwhatyouhearis
layer3’soutput.Youcanalsohavethevolumesofallthreelayersturnedup,whichwillmixthe
signalofallthreelayers.You
could,inthesameprogram,alsodecidetorunlayer4into5into6
into13into25ifyouwanted.Anyofthe32layerscangointoanyotherlayer.
TheCascademodealgorithms(verymuchliketriplemodeonaK2600)startatID101.Notein
theabovefigureshowalgorithm101looksverysimila rtoalgorithm1.EachCascademode
algorithmcorrespondstoitsnoncascadeequivalent,whichhasthesameIDnumberminus100.
Forexample,algorithm105isacascademodeversionofalgorithm5.OntheAlgpage,select
whichlayeryouwant
tohaverunningthroughyourcascadelayerwiththeAltInputparameter.
MakesuretoturndowntheAmpvolumeonyoursourcelayersifyouonlywanttohearwhatʹs
comingoutofthefinalcascadelayer.
Dynamic VAST
TheDynamicVASTeditorisyetanotherparticularlypowerfulfeatureof
thePC3LEthatallows
youtoeditthewiringofanalgorithm.WithDynamicVAST,literallythousandsofwiring
schemesarepossible.UsingCascademodeinconjunctionwithDynamicVASTgivesyoualmost
infinitecontroloveryourprogram’ssoundandbehaviorbyenablingyoutocreateyourown
unique,complexalgorithms.
ToentertheDynamicVASTeditor,selecttheALG(Algorithm)pagebypressingtheALGsoft
button.HighlighttheAlgorithmparameter,selectanalgorithm,andpresstheEditbutton.This
actioncallsuptheEditAlgorithm(EditAlg)pageinwhichyoucaneditthewiringofthe
selectedalgorithm.
