Pan
Usethisparametertopositionthecurrentlayer’s pre‐FXsignal.Negativevaluespanthesignal
totheleftchannel,positivevaluespantotheright,andavalueofzeropanstothecenter.To
adjustthepost‐FX,final‐stagegainandpanningofthecurrentprogram,go
totheCOMMON
pageandadjusttheOutputparameters(seeTheCOMMONPage on page 6‐39).
Anadditionalpanparameter(Pan2)appearsifyouhavetheStereoparameterontheKEYMAP
pagesettoavalueofOn.
Pan Mode
WhenthemodeisFixedthepanpositionremainsasdefinedwiththePan
parameter,ignoring
MIDIpanmessages.Whenthemodeis+MIDI,MIDIpanmessages(MIDI10)willshiftthe
soundtotheleftorrightofthePanparametersetting.Messagevaluesbelow64shiftitleft,
whilethoseabove64shiftitright.AsettingofAutoassignsthepan
settingofeachnotebased
onitsMIDInotenumber.Inthiscase,MiddleC(MIDInotenumber60)isequivalenttothePan
parameter’ssetting.Lowernotesshiftincreasinglyleft,whilehighernotesshiftincreasingly
right.AsettingofReverseshiftslownotesright,andhighnotesleft.MIDI
panmessageswill
alsoaffectthepanpositionwhenvaluesofAutoandReverseareselected.
Output: Pan, Gain, and Mode
SomefactoryROMdrumprogramshavelayerspecificeffects.Fortheseprogramsthree
additionalparametersappearontheOUTPUTpage:OutPan,OutGain,andOutPanMode.
Theseparametersareanalogoustotheoutput
parametersontheCOMMONpage,butarelayer‐
specific—theCOMMONoutputparametersapplytoalllayers.Youcanusetheoutput
parametersontheOUTPUTpagetoadjustthepanningandgainofthepost‐FXsignalofthe
currentlayer.
