6 Setting Up the Devices and System Operation
This chapter describes how to operate the KY-LOC 1D.02.01 sensor. The following steps must
be taken to have a basic measurement running:
1. Install the devices (see chapter 6.1)
2. Power up the devices (see chapter 6.2)
3. Configure the communication links (see “Communication Setup” message in Chapter
7)
4. Configure one device as Relay device (see chapter 7)
5. Connect to the device and run the system (see chapter 6.5)
6. Do the first measurement run (see chapter 6.6)
After this procedure, the system may be installed and will start automatically measuring if both
sensors are powered and synchronized.
6.1 Installation of the KY-LOC 1D.02.01 Sensor
For a proper operation, the following parts must be considered:
The devices must face each other. For long range operation they should be aligned
better than 5 °.
Minimum of 2 m distance between the two units must be maintained to guarantee the
specified accuracy.
The orientation of the devices must be the same (please refer to chapter 3.2).
The vertical and horizontal offset must be smaller than 0.5 m.
