Oil filter cartridge service
(Xciting 500i & 500Ri models)
Oil strainer screen service
(Xciting 250/300i & 250/300RI models)
Changing the oil filter cartridge requires a special oil filter car-
tridge tool and a torque wrench. If you do not have these tools
and the necessary technical skill, have this service performed
by your KYMCO dealer.
NOTE: If you did not use a torque wrench during this pro-
cedure, see your KYMCO dealer as soon as possible so
the fasteners and the oil filter cartridge can be checked for
proper installation.
NOTE: Change the engine oil with the engine at normal
operating temperature and with the scooter on its center
stand to assure complete and rapid draining.
1. Remove the oil filler/dipstick 3 from the right crankcase cover.

2. Place a drain pan under the crankcase and remove the oil
strainer screen cap 5.
3. The spring 6 and the oil strainer screen 7 will come out
when the cap 5 is removed.
4. Clean the oil strainer screen.
5. Make sure the oil strainer screen, the seal on the screen,
and the drain plug O-ring 8 are in good condition.
