Place the battery with the metal contacts facing down and towards the bottom of the phone.

The battery is fully charged when “Charging is complete” appears on the screen. You can safely recharge the battery at any time, even if it has a partial charge.

You can also set up a speed dialing location for each number. You can classify each phone number as work, home, mobile, pager, or fax.

The Settings menu includes the following options.

hÉóÖì~êÇ hÉóÖì~êÇ= The keyguard locks your keypad to protect your phone against accidental keypresses and accidental calls when the phone is turned on and a call is not in progress. Keyguard does not prevent you from answering or silencing an incoming call. qç=íìêå=âÉóÖì~êÇ=çå NK Select jÉåì 6 pÉííáåÖë 6 hÉóÖì~êÇ. Select an option from the list: ■ – kçêã~äÔNormal length key beeps. – içåÖÔLong length key beeps may be useful for automated dial-in systems, such as voicemail. Some older voicemail systems require içåÖ key beeps. hÉó=_ÉÉé=pçìåÇÔIf the volume is turned on, you can set the sound you hear when you press a key. ■ jáëëÉÇ=`~ää=^äÉêíÔSelect bå~ÄäÉÇ if you want to have the phone alert you when you have missed a call.

ÅK Using your thumb, slide the battery door down until it stops. ÇK Lift the battery door off the phone. OK Remove the faceplate: ~K Turn the phone over to face you with the antenna pointing down. ÄK Grip the back of the phone. With the other hand, grip the sides of the faceplate near the bottom of the phone.
PK Put on a new faceplate: ~K Push the keypad into the holes in the new faceplate. ÄK Align the top of the faceplate in the grooves in the top of the phone. c a b ÅK Close the faceplate until it clicks into place. QK Replace the battery door: ~K Hold the phone facing away from you. ÄK Align the battery door to the grooves on the sides of the phone. ÅK Slide the battery door on until it clicks into place. Do not force.
