Entering network settings
If you do not enter a password here, the word “Prompt” remains in the Password box.
Each time you log in, you will be prompted to enter your password. If you do enter a password
here, the word “Assigned” appears in the Password box. You will not be prompted to enter
the password.
3. Tap OK.
Selecting the connection
1. Tap next to Connection.
2. Select from the following methods of connecting to the Internet:
Entering phone settings
In the Phone Setup dialog, enter the telephone number you use to connect with your ISP or dial-in
server. Contact your carrier for the correct number.
1. Tap the Phone field to open the Phone Setup dialog.
2. Enter the phone number you use to reach your ISP or dial-in server.
3. Do one of the following:
■ If you need to enter a dial prefix, disable call waiting, or use a calling card when you log
in, continue to those sections.
■ If not, tap OK. See “Selecting the connection” on page 126
Standard Modem
Connect the phone to the serial port of a computer using a data cable.
Cradle/Cable
Connect the phone to a PDA cradle connected to your computer.
IR to a PC Handheld
Communicate with a computer or other handheld device using the
infrared port.
Wireless Mode
Connect using the phone’s internal wireless modem.
Edit Connections...
Allows you to adjust how you connect, the dialing type, and volume.
