Setting Phone Service preferences
To switch phone lines
If you have more than one phone line associated with your phone, you can switch to the other line
by tapping beside
Phone Line and choosing a different phone number. If you only have one
phone line, only one number will show here.
To set the Roam Option
If you have multiple home service providers, you can select how you want your phone to handle
them on this screen. You can also set your phone to permit or restrict roaming. If you do not have
multiple home service providers, you will not need to make any changes to this screen.
CAUTION: Use caution when making changes to service settings. Do not make adjustments to your phone
account unless you have more than one home service provider. Check with your service provider(s) to verify
what changes, if any, should be made.
1. From the Phone Service screen, tap beside Roam Option.
2. Your service provider can tell you whether it is necessary to make changes to this setting,
as well as what channel to select.
To enable CHAP Authentication
Some wireless service providers require CHAP authentication for data coverage; others do not.
Check with your wireless service provider to determine whether you need to change this
parameter. You can turn CHAP authentication on or off on the Phone Preferences screen.
1. To turn on CHAP authentication, tap beside Enable CHAP Authentication on the Phone
Services screen.
2. To turn off CHAP authentication, remove the check mark.
If you are not sure, leave CHAP enabled.
To set Digital or Analog mode
If you wish to set the phone into a particular mode:
1. From the Phone Service screen, tap beside Digital/ Analog.
2. Select one of the following:
Automatic A
Use the Channel A service provider. If it is not available, switch to the
Channel B service provider.
Automatic B

Channel A service provider.
No Roaming
