Music
The Play Music app plays digital audio les saved on the storage card. You need to copy
music les to your storage card rst to use the Music application. See Use the Phone’s
microSD Card as a USB Drive on page 173 for more details on copying les.
Note: If you have signed up for Google Music™, the rst time you open the Music
application you will be prompted to select the account whose online music library you
want to access from the Android Music application. Follow the onscreen instructions
to continue.
Open the Music Library
Access the music library to enjoy your favorite music.

Play Music. The Music library screen appears.

Learn the basics to use the Music application.
1. On the Music library screen, tap a category name to view its contents. Available
categories are:
▪ PLAYLISTS to select a customized playlist you’ve created.
▪ RECENT to show the albums you have listened to recently.
▪ ARTISTS to show your music library sorted by artist.
▪ ALBUMS to show your music library sorted by album.
▪ SONGS to list all of your songs in alphabetical order.
▪ GENRES to show your music library sorted by genre.
2. Tap a song in your library to play it. The Now playing screen opens.
