Mobile Hotspot
Mobile Hotspot allows you to turn your phone into a Wi-Fi hotspot. The feature works best
when used in conjunction with 4G data services (although 3G service can also be used).
Set Up Mobile Hotspot
1. Tap >
Menu
or
Apps
>
Mobile Hotspot settings or Mobile Hotspot.
2. Tap Mobile Hotspot to place a check mark in the adjacent eld to activate the
service.
3. Read the message and tap OK.
▪ Using both 4G service and hotspot drains your phone’s battery at a much faster
rate than when using any other feature combination.
Note:
The best way to keep using the phone as a hotspot is to have it connected to a power
supply.
4. Tap Congure and congure your hotspot settings.
▪ Network SSID: Sets your network name.
▪ Security: Selects your security level.
▪ Password: Sets the password for use.
5. Tap Manage devices to select what device you allow to connect to your phone.
6. Tap DHCP server if you need to congure the DHCP server settings.
7. Tap Battery management to select the length of time before your hotspot feature is
disabled if there is no device connected.
Important:
Write down the passkey (password) for this communication (shown onscreen).
Connect to Mobile Hotspot
1. Enable Wi-Fi (wireless) functionality on your target device (laptop, media device, etc.).
2. Scan for Wi-Fi networks from the device and select your phone hotspot from the
network list.
