196 Settings
Use Face Unlock
1. Tap Face Unlock.
2. Read a message and tap Set it up.
3. Read a message and tap Continue.
4. Using the front-facing camera, adjust the phone so that your face ts in the area
outlined with dots on the screen.
5. The message “Face captured.” appears when the Face Unlock set up was
successful. Tap Continue.
6. You will be prompted to set up a backup lock. Select Pattern or PIN and set it up. See
Use a Screen Unlock Pattern on page 196 or Use a Screen Unlock PIN on page 196.
7. To unlock, turn on the phone and look at the front-facing camera so that it recognizes
you. If it fails to recognize you, a backup lock screen appears. Enter a pattern or PIN
to unlock.
Use a Screen Unlock Pattern
1. Tap Pattern.
2. Read the information and study the example pattern on the screen, and then tap
Next.
3. Draw the screen unlock pattern by connecting at least four dots in a vertical,
horizontal, or diagonal direction. Lift your nger from the screen when nished.
4. The phone records the pattern. Tap Continue.
5. When prompted, draw the screen unlock pattern again, and then tap Conrm.
Note: Clear the
Make pattern visible check box if you do not want the unlock pattern to
display on the screen when you draw it.
Use a Screen Unlock PIN
1. Tap PIN.
2. Enter a PIN, tap Continue, re-enter your PIN, and tap OK to save the setting.
