Owner Information
Display the text on the Lock screen.
1. Tap Owner info.
2. Tap the eld and type text to display on the Lock screen. The text will be displayed on
the Lock screen when the Show owner info on lock screen check box is selected.
Local wipe
Let your phone reset if the number of password attempts reaches the number specied
here.
1. Tap Local wipe.
2. Select the number of password attempts before your phone resets.
Encryption
You can encrypt and decrypt your phone’s internal storage. Also, you can choose to enable
or disable the encryption of your phone and the SD card installed in your phone. For both
encryption and decryption, you need to enter a PIN or password for the screen lock. To set
up a PIN or password, see Screen Lock on page 195.
Warning:
Refrain from using the phone, including removing the battery and the SD card,
during the encryption process as some or all of your data will be lost if the
encryption process is interrupted.
1. Charge the battery rst.
2. With your phone connected to the power source, tap >
Tools or Apps
>
Settings
> Security > Encrypt data.
3. Tap Internal storage to encrypt your Contacts, Calendar, Email, settings values,
personal data, etc., or tap Phone & SD card to encrypt data stored in the SD card as
well.
4. Read the message and tap Next.
5. Enter a PIN or password and tap Next.
6. Read the message and tap Encrypt.
