Some of the keys on the Android keyboard are given below:
Key Description
Shift: Tap to toggle between lower case and upper case.
Caps lock: Double-tap the lower case or upper case shift key.
Text mode:
Tap to toggle between the Alphabet keyboard and Number &
Symbol keyboard.
Voice input mode: Tap to enter text using your voice.
Backspace: Tap to delete a character. Tap and hold to delete multiple
characters.
Smiley: Tap to insert a smiley. Tap and hold to view and select other smileys.
Next: Tap to go to the next text entry eld.
Alternate: Tap to toggle between the default Number & Symbol keyboard and
additional Number & Symbol keyboard.
Go:
Tap to go to a Web address.
Space: Tap to insert a space. Tap and hold to select the input method.
Text Mode
ABC mode is primarily used for entering letters while Number & Symbol mode for numbers
and symbols.
Tap to select ABC mode. Tap to select Number & Symbol mode.
▪ In ABC mode, tap to alter the capitalization:
(Unshifted) to enter all letters in a word lowercase.
(One-character-shifted) to capitalize only the rst letter of a word.
