Encryption & credentials
You can encrypt the data in the SD card installed in your phone. You need to enter the PIN or
password for the screen lock for the operation. To set up a PIN or password, see Screen lock
settings.
WARNING:
Do not use the phone or remove the SD card during the encryption and decryption
processes as some or all of your data will be lost.
Encrypt Phone
Displays the phone’s encryption status.
SD card encryption
You can set your phone to encrypt the data each time it is added to the SD card inserted in your
phone.
1. From the Home screen, tap
Apps
>
Settings
>
Security & location
>
Encryption
& credentials
>
SD Card encryption

2. Read the message and tap NEXT.
NOTE: Depending on your security settings, the following steps may vary.
3. Enter a PIN or password and tap .
4. Read the message and tap ENCRYPT. The data saved in the SD card will be
encrypted.

CANCEL
to cancel the setting.
Storage type
You can see the supported credentials storage type.
Trusted credentials
You can see the trusted credentials on your phone’s system.
