6.5 ACARS ATSU
The ACARS ARINC 429 Tx interface provides safety-services data functionality for the Airbus Iridium
SATCOM System. It is recommended that if the ACARS ATSU ARINC 429 Rx connection will not be
utilized, that the wires be capped and stowed near the connectors as shown. ARINC 429 Rx port 4 is
shown in Figure 6-3, but any Rx port from 2 to 16 may be used.
