18. Analyzer Plug-in
18.1 Overview
The analyzer plug-in provides an interface between the Lake Controller and third‐party audio analyzer
software products. The plug-in displays measurement results within the Lake Controller, and passes control
information from the Lake Controller back to the third-party analyzer software. This communication link can
be provided on the same host computer, or between computers over an Ethernet network as Figure 18-1
and Figure 18-2 illustrate.
Figure 18-1: Single host computer
Figure 18-2: Two computers connected across Ethernet network
Figure 18-3 shows a practical example connection for connecting the Lake Controller using two computers.
The analyzer PC (running the third-party analyzer software with associated plug-in functionality) has a
wired connection to an Ethernet switch that connects the Lake network. A wireless tablet PC running the
Lake Controller is connected to the same switch using a wireless access point. This conguration allows the
analyzer results to be transmitted via a wireless access point to the Lake Controller.
