8.2.4 Breaker Emulation Limiter (BEL
™
) - PLM 20000Q, PLM+ and D Series
Three types of breaker are available (Conservative, Fast and Universal) as shown in Figure 8-11; each breaker
behaves accordingly when the nominal current is reached.
The Conservative breaker type does not allow the current to exceed the nominal current value.
The Fast and Universal breaker types allow the current to exceed the nominal current value, but calculate
how the temperature of the breaker is affected. The allowed current is decreased when necessary to reduce
breaker temperature; the Universal breaker type allows a higher temperature before the allowed current is
reduced.
The meters on the right of the screen display Volts RMS and Amps RMS. The Volts RMS meter is gray
(voltage OK) when the voltage is between 80 and 265 V. The meter turns orange (voltage warning) when
between 65 V and 80 V and UVL (Under Voltage Limiter) may engage. It turns red (voltage fault) when
below 65 V or above 265 V and the audio will be muted.

To change the nominal current, tap the blue edit value and enter a value between 5.0 A and 32.0 A. The
actual value is displayed in brackets above the desired editable value, and varies depending on the maximum
capability of the amplier model.
