Modules Menu Reference
Multicast / Unicast Setting
The MULTI/UNI options provide the ability to identify whether each channel will be congured as multicast
(i.e. many devices receive a connection to the same audio ow), or congured as unicast (i.e. each device
receives a separate point-to-point audio ow).
Use alphanumeric characters (uppercase or
lowercase) and the “-” character only. DO NOT use
any other characters, especially @ . =
It is important to use Multicast when a particular
channel is distributed to three or more receivers;
this ensures optimal bandwidth usage and Dante
network stability.
Set to multicast before enabling the transmit outputs option if it is known that three or more receivers will
subscribe to this channel.
This parameter is synchronized between the Lake Controller and the Dante Controller.
Output Channel Labeling
Tapping the keyboard button to the right of the UNI button will display the on-screen keyboard allowing up
to a 31-character name to be entered for this Dante channel.
Use alphanumeric characters (uppercase or lowercase)
and the “-” character only. DO NOT use any other
characters, especially @ . =
Entry of appropriate and meaningful channel labels on all devices is recommended before conguring
system routing. If a Dante device name or output channel label is changed on a Dante transmitter after rout-
ing to receiving devices, the channel must be disconnected and re-routed on the receiver/s to reestablish a
valid connection.
For additional information regarding Dante conguration, please refer to chapter 8.2.
As Dante uses standard Ethernet for digital audio transmission, there are certain guidelines and rules which
must be adhered to for successful implementation. Please refer to section 3.6 for further details, along with
the Dante literature included with the Lake Controller software installation.
Dante Dual Redundancy
For LM, PLM and PLM+ Series, dual redundancy is OFF by default; navigate to the TECHNICAL DATA
screen via the I/O CONFIG menu and enable if required.
For D Series, dual redundancy is ON by default; navigate to the TECHNICAL DATA screen via the
I/O CONFIG menu and disable if not required.
This change requires power cycle of the device to complete; please refer to section 8.2.10.5.
