Setup 1. Plug the power supply into an AC outlet and connect the power cable to the 2big Quadra. 2. Decide which interface cable you will use (eSATA 3Gbits , FireWire 400, FireWire 800, USB 2.0) and connect your 2big Quadra to your computer. NOTE : Do not connect more than one interface cable between your computer and your 2big Quadra. eSATA USB 2.
3. LaCie 2big Quadra comes with two 3.5” SATA II hard disks installed. The disks are formatted in HFS+, so Windows users will need to reformat the disks before using the 2big Quadra. Please see the detailed User Manual on the LaCie Storage Utilities CD-ROM for information on formatting hard disks. 4. The disks are configured in Fast mode. If you would like to change the RAID mode, see Changing the RAID Mode on the next page. 5.
Changing the RAID Mode CAUTION! - Changing the RAID mode will erase the data stored on the 2big Quadra. Back up data before changing the RAID mode. - The 2 disk trays must be in place before the RAID mode can be modified. NOTE: See the User Manual for information on RAID modes. 1. Unmount or safely remove the 2big Quadra volumes from your computer, disconnect the interface cable, and switch off the 2big. 2. To enter RAID modification mode, push and hold the front button and simultaneously turn on the 2big.
