1 Connect the Hi-Speed USB PowerSharing cable to draw extra power when necessary. 2 Connect the Hi-Speed USB 2.0 cable to your drive.
3 Connect the USB 2.0 cables to your computer. After a few seconds, the LaCie drive will mount on your computer. 3 For Windows users: double-click on the icon “LaCie SAFE drive” in your “My Computer” folder, and then double click on the lock icon named “LaCie SAFE drive”.** 4 For Mac users: click on the icon “LaCie SAFE drive” mounted on your desktop and then click on the Lock icon named “LaCie SAFE drive”.
5 6 Follow the Wizard Install. Please consult the User’s Manual for more details about user registration. Click on the button “Unlock drive” and swipe your finger to access the drive.
To swipe your finger correctly: A A) Make sure that the front of the drive is facing you, and wait for the top LED to become orange. FRONT OF DRIVE B) With your finger pressed flat on the groove and fingertip touching the top recess, slowly slide finger toward you. B LaCie drives are pre-formatted as FAT 32 volumes and can be used across multiple platforms (Windows 2000/XP, Mac OS 10). For optimum performance, the drive can easily be re-formatted in NTFS for Windows 2000/XP users or HFS+ for Mac users.
