Care & Maintenance of
Lakeland Mills Outdoor Log Furniture
Lakeland Mills log furniture is naturally resistant to rot and insect infestation.
Upon assembly it is ready for immediate use. As with any product a little
maintenance can prolong its function.
Tips on Care and Maintenance:
At the beginning of each usage season, and periodically throughout the
season, check hardware for tightness.
Covering your furniture will cause moisture, which is the perfect
environment for mold and mild to grow.
Avoid direct contact with the ground. If not on a porch or patio,
landscape discs work great. They can be placed in the ground for easy
lawn maintenance.
Treat with a quality penetrating oil finish with UV protection. The
pigment in the stain is what helps the logs from turning a silvery grey.
Depending on your climate a fungicide may be helpful. Follow
manufacturer suggestions for reapplication.
Log furniture can be washed by hand or by a pressure washer. Be careful!
Cedar is a soft wood. Check to make sure you pressure setting isn’t set
too hard. Five parts water to one part bleach with a dash of dish soap is
recommended.
