Siliconizer Crack Filler Instructions
Surface Preparation: All surfaces must be clean and free of contaminants such as dirt, grease,
mildew, oil, rust, loose or badly cracked sealant and paint.
Mildewed Surfaces: Any existing mildew on the surface must be completely killed and removed
prior to the application of new sealant. To remove mildew, scrub surface with a long-handled
brush and a mixture of one-quart household bleach and three quarts of warm water. Rinse
completely and let dry.
Previously Caulked Surfaces: It is critical to remove as much old sealant as possible before
applying new caulk, specially if it is cracked, eroded or pulled away from the joint.
New Construction: Make sure the adjacent surfaces are clean, dry and dust free. For both
interior and/or exterior use, apply one coat of LANCO® Acrylic Wall and Roof Primer/SealerTM
AS-210. Let dry four hours before applying the sealant.
Painted Areas: Scrape off any loose paint in the joints and apply one coat of LANCO® Acrylic
Wall and Roof Primer/SealerTM AS- 210. Let dry four hours before applying the
sealant.
Note: Apply at temperatures above 50oF (10oC) and when no precipitation is expected within 72
hours.
Application: For best results, follow these instructions:
(1) SHRINKAGE CRACKS (less than 1/32” wide): Prime with LANCO® Acrylic Roof and Wall
Primer/SealerTM AS- 210 and let dry. Apply LANCO® Siliconizer Elastomeric Crack FillerTM
over crack and two inches to each side of it.
(2) CRACKS 1/32” OR BIGGER: Any cracks bigger than 1/32” should be pouted out to 1/4”
wide and 1/4” deep. Clean crack with water, and let dry. Prime with LANCO® Acrylic Wall and
Roof Primer/SealerTM AS-210 and let dry four hours. Fill joint completely and two inches to
each side with LANCO® Siliconizer Elastomeric Crack FillerTM and let dry 24 hours.
(3) JOINTS: Clean joints with water and let dry. Prime with LANCO® Acrylic Roof and Wall
Primer / SealerTM AS- 210. And let dry. Fill them with backing rod and cover with LANCO®
Siliconizer Elastomeric Crack FillerTM 11/16” over surface and two inches to each side of joint.
Coverage: Depends on depth and size of holes and cracks. Approximately 34 linear feet of 1/4”
bead per 10.1 oz. cartridge.
Cleanup: Clean all equipment immediately after use with warm soapy water.
Drying Time: Under standard conditions, a 1/32” bead will be fully cured in 24 hours; however,
this may vary depending on weather conditions. Joints bigger than 1/32” may need 48 hours. Full
cure takes place in seven days. Let dry two hours before painting with latex, and 24 hours for
alkyd paints.
Caution: Use only with adequate ventilation. Do not take internally. Keep out of reach of
children.
