2. Enter or modify the fields in Table 10-1.

SNMP Configuration
Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) is a network management tool that monitors
network devices for conditions that need attention. The Web Manager configured SNMP service
sends traps whenever a request for information that contains an incorrect community name and
does not match an accepted system name for the service gets sent.
To configure SNMP, perform the following steps.
1. Click SNMP on the Main Menu. Figure 10-3 shows the page that displays.

Field Description
Local IP Address Enter the IP address assigned to the EDS1100/2100’s PPP interface.
Peer IP Address Enter the IP address assigned to the peer (when requested during
negotiation).
Authentication Mode Choose the authentication mode:
None—No authentication is required.
PAP—Password Authentication Protocol.
CHAP—Challenge Handshake Authentication Protocol.
