Application



CLASSIC 100 yellow cables are PVC connecting cables for flexible use and fixed installation for medium mechani-

cal use for special warning feature in accordance to VDE 0113 part 1 that is EN 60204 part 1. They are for use in dry, damp

or wet rooms. They may only be installed outdoors with UV-protection and in observation of the temperature range. At room

temperature they are generally resistant against acids, caustics solutions and certain oils. Suitable for freely moved without

forced guidance and tensile stress.

This cable is suitable for torsion application in wind turbines (WTG). The torsional load is limited to applications, as they

typically occur in the loop of a wind turbine.

Design

Design in accordance to HD 21.13S1 that is VDE 0281-13

Conductor bare copper, fine wire strand in accordance to IEC 60 228

that is VDE 0295, class 5

Core insulation LAPP special PVC-compound P 8/1, better than the PVC compound TI2 in

accordance to VDE 0207 part 4

Identification colored-coded in acc. to HD 186 resp. VDE 0293 or HD 308S2 that is

VDE 0293-308 with green/yellow ground conductor

Outer sheath PVC-compound TM2 in acc. to VDE 0207 part 5 with increased requests

to LAPP specification

Outer sheath color yellow (RAL 1016)

Electrical properties

Nominal voltage 450 / 750 V

Test voltage 4000 V AC

Mechanical and thermal properties

Min. bending radius occasional flexing: 15 x cable diameter

Fixed installation: 4 x cable diameter

Temperature range for flexible use -5 up to +70° C max. conductor temperature

fixed installation -30 up to +80° C max. conductor temperature

Torsion movement in WTG TW-0 (5000 cycles at ≥ +5°C)

TW-1 (2000 cycles at ≥ -20°C)

± 150 °/m at 1 revolution per minute

Flame retardant in acc. to IEC 60 332.1 resp. VDE 0482 part 265-2-1

Tests in acc. to VDE 0472 and IEC 811-x.x that is VDE 0473

ECD 2002/95/EC (RoHS, Restriction of the use of certain hazardous substances).
