Install door installation screws, starting

Slide rail extender (marked with “R”) into the bottom of
latch rail.
Place latch rail tight against the drip cap. Slide rail extender to sill.

Pre-drill holes and fasten the latch rail with screws.

Verify that the door closes freely without hitting the latch rail.

With the door open, lift up the handle to extend the
hooks. Carefully close the door against the latch rail.
With a pencil, mark the location of the latch bolt and
both hooks.

Place the strike plates on the latch rail and align the slots
with the markings on the rail. Mark the screw holes and
remove the strike plates. Drill the marked holes with a
3/32-in drill bit.
Reposition the strike plates and secure with #8 x 7/16-in
flat head screws. Close the door and check operation of the
lock. Reposition strike plates if needed.

With the door open, firmly lift up on the door handle to extend
the hooks. Close the door. Mark with a pencil the contact point
on the brickmould of both hooks and the center latch.

At these three locations, measure 5/16-in off the face of the brickmould. Using a drill
and chisel, clear the contact area, removing wood until the hooks can throw freely.

Check for existing door hardware interference.
If storm door hardware interferes with your primary door hardware we recommend placing storm door
hinge on opposite side, or moving storm door handle up or down until it clears.
Verify house door trim is securely attached and square.

Confirm the hinge side of the storm door. Turn this
poster over for right hinge installation. Your
LARSON Reversa-Hinge storm door is designed for
either right or left hinge installation. Oversize custom
doors may not be reversible.

Mark and drill the two holes as shown. Attach placeholder
screw to inside face of brickmould. Do not tighten all of

Place the template tight against the left side of door
frame and slide to top. Tape in place.

rail In remaining 6 locations. Do not over tighten
screws.

Hang storm door onto door frame using the
placeholder screw.
The door will settle
approx. 1/16-in down.
Tighten screw
while pushing top of hinge rail tight
against the door frame.

Push the door tight against door frame and attach a screw
in the top hole predrilled in Step 2. Pre-drill remaining holes
and install screws on the outer side of the hinge rail. Do
not over tighten screws.

Install expander.
Adjust the sweep to the threshold. Secure expander.
Install sweep. To aid in installation soapy water or liquid
soap can be applied into channel of expander.
Crimp ends and trim.

Drill two 3/32-in pilot holes.
Do not drill through to the front of the storm door.
