DOT CLASSIFICATION: Not Regulated
FLASH POINT: greater than 210° F AUTO IGNITION TEMP.: N/A
LOWER EXPLOSIVE LIMIT (LEL): N/A
UPPER EXPLOSIVE LIMIT (UEL): N/A
EXTINGUISHING MEDIA: Water/fog/foam/dry chemical/extinguishing media may be used to neutralize
burning dry material.
SPECIAL FIRE FIGHTING PROCEDURES: Firefighters should wear self-contained breathing equipment.
Do not allow run off from fire fighting procedures to enter public waterways.
UNUSUAL FIRE AND EXPLOSION HAZARDS: Closed containers may build pressure from heat. Dust
residues can potentially form explosive mixtures with air. Use adequate ventilation with clean-up
procedures. Burning liquid can float on water and spread further.
HAZARDOUS DECOMPOSITION PRODUCTS: Carbon Monoxide, aldehydes, and acids may be formed
during combustion in addition to normal products of combustion (water and carbon dioxide plus heat).
Possibly some oxides of sulfur.
"EMPTY" CONTAINER WARNING: Container might contain residues which are combustible. Do not
reuse container without prior cleaning and reconditioning.
PRIMARY ROUTES OF EXPOSURE WHEN HANDLED OR PROCESSING:
1. Inhalation of vapors and/or mists
2. Skin Contact
3. Eye contact through mists, splashes, and spills
4. Accidental ingestion
EFFECTS OF OVEREXPOSURE/ACUTE OVEREXPOSURE:
1. Excessive inhalation may cause headache, dizziness, nausea, vomiting and perhaps loss of
consciousness. Vapor may be irritating to eyes nose and throat.
2. Skin contact will cause irritation and/or systemic effects by absorption.
3. Eye contact is severely irritating and can cause irreversible damage.
4. Accidental liquid ingestion may result in vomiting; aspiration of vomitus must be avoided as liquid
contact with the lungs can result in chemical pneumonitis and pulmonary edema/hemorrhage. Have
patient drink large amounts of water; contact a physician.
EMERGENCY AND FIRST AID PROCEDURES:
1. If overcome by mist or vapor remove from exposure immediately; call a physician. If breathing is
stopped of irregular start resuscitation, administer oxygen.
2. For skin contact remove any contaminated clothing and wash skin with soap and warm water.
Vegetable or mineral oil can remove dry material.
3. For eye contact flush eyes for 15 minutes while holding eyelids open; consult a physician.
4. If ingested DO NOT INDUCE VOMITING even though vomiting may occur. If vomiting
occurs, keep head below hips to prevent aspiration of liquid into the lungs. Get immediate
medical attention.
