The following tools and hardware are required to complete your installation:
Also note: Mounting hardware is not provided as each individual replace wall is different. Below are
Methods in which to mount your mantle, however yours may require a different way to install and
as such hardware will very based on your situation.

Push shelf down and towards
the wall so it is tight against
the wall.
Mounting Bracket
NOTE: Gaps between the wall and the shelf may occur due to uneven walls
or masonry. This is normal and is not a defect in your mantel.
Make sure the wall bracket is attached to
the wall as shown here.
Line up the top of the mounting
bracket with the bottom line on the
wall, as shown here.
If installed into masonry use lag bolts and anchor them to the wall
through proper sized holes drilled in the bracket, as well as a
counter sink to accommodate the bolt head and washer as shown
here. This is important as to be sure the back side of the mantle ts
ush against the bracket and doesn’t wedge against the back of the
mantle and push the mantle away from the wall. This can be done by
rst using a forstner bit for the counter sink and a regular wood drill bit
for the remainder of the hole. Be sure to use the appropriate sized lag
bolts and washers, as well as any internal anchors your installer deems
necessary.
If installed into a sheetrock wall be sure to drill holes all along the
mounting bracket and counter sink them in the same way as
described in the (install for masonry instructions above).
Position the holes along the bracket at the studs (2x4’s) in your wall,
anchor them at as many stud locations as your mantel covers. Be
sure to use proper size lag bolts and washers to properly secure your
mantel. Please Note: It is only necessary to counter sink the holes in
the bracket if you are installing one of the following mantles: The Scroll,
The Belisario, or the Hensel. All others this step is not necessary.
Tape Measure • Mounting Bracket (Included) • Drill (Masonry drill if mounted on brick or stone) • Wood drill bit
forstner bit • Pencil • Wrench • Hammer • Level • Masonry Lag Bolts, washers and led anchors if needed • Lag
bolts for wood and washers (if installed into a wall with wood studs)
Step 1 - Location of Shelf Mounting Bracket
Place the shelf on the wall above your replace or on the wall at the desired
height. Level the shelf and draw a line on the wall at the top of the shelf. Remove
the shelf. Next measure the distance from the top of the back of the shelf to the
bottom of the attached bracket. Use this measurement to determine where the
bottom line will be placed to mount the corresponding bracket.
See Mantel gure. 1. Note: There are many different masonry bolts and anchors
available, be sure to choose the appropriate ones for your wall.
Step 2 - Attaching Mounting Bracket (Board) to the Wall
The shelf mounting bracket is a long, narrow wood strip. Line up the bottom of the
mounting bracket with the lower line and attach the mounting bracket to the wall in this
position. Make sure mounting bracket is level. Mark the position you deem appropriate
to drill the holes in the bracket. If you are mounting the bracket on a standard drywall
over stud construction, make sure you screw the mounting bracket into the wood studs
(2x4’s) for strength . When attaching the shelf to a brick surface you must use the
Masonry lag bolts. Mark the location of the holes to be drilled by marking through the
holes you’ve drilled on the bracket. Drill the holes in the masonry in the locations you
marked. Then insert anchors into the drilled holes then insert lag bolts through the
mounting bracket into the anchors and tighten. Make sure the mounting bracket is
secure to the wall as shown in gure 2.

Step 3 - Install Shelf on Mounting Bracket
Install shelf over mounting bracket and slide down until shelf is tight against the wall. Then, push
down rmly on the top of the shelf to insure that the shelf is resting solidly on top of the mounting
bracket.
