In brazed plate heat exchangers (BPHE) the #1 mode of failure is freezing. Do
not cool water below 33˚ F. In water chiller applications the low pressure cut-out
on the refrigerant side should be set no lower than 28˚ F, based on evaporator
refrigerant pressure at this temperature.
