A defective or dirty ame sensor can prevent the burners in a gas furnace from
remaining lit. The furnace may repeatedly attempt to ignite the burners but
unsuccessfully. When installing or cleaning the ame sensor avoid touching
the rod. If the oil present in our ngers is absorbed by the rod, it may result in
improper operation and premature failure.
