A defective or dirty ame sensor can prevent the burners in a gas furnace from
remaining lit. The furnace may repeatedly attempt to ignite the burners but
unsuccessfully. When installing or cleaning the ame sensor avoid touching
the rod. If the oil present in our ngers is absorbed by the rod, it may result in
improper operation and premature failure.
