GENERAL SAFETY RULES WARNING When using the machine the safety rules must be followed. For your own safety and bystanders please read these instructions before operating the machine. Do not use the machine without reading the instruction sheet. Please keep the instructions safe for later use. • This grass trimmer is designed for cutting grass and similar soft vegetation and for trimming grass edges in private and hobby garden areas which are not accessible with a grass trimmer.
GENERAL SAFETY RULES ADDITIONAL SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS FOR YOUR GRASS TRIMMER • Do not expose to moisture. • Use only on AC mains supply voltage shown on the product rating label. • Avoid operating your trimmer in wet grass, where feasible. • Take care in wet grass, you may lose your footing. • On slopes, be extra careful of your footing and wear nonslip footwear. • Do not walk backwards when trimming, you could trip. Walk never run. • Switch off before pushing the trimmer over surfaces other than grass.
ELECTRICAL INFORMATION WARNING TO AVOID ELECTRICAL HAZARDS, FIRE HAZARDS, OR DAMAGE TO THE TOOL, USE PROPER CIRCUIT PROTECTION. YOUR GRASS TRIMMER IS WIRED AT THE FACTROY FOR 120 V OPERATION. CONNECT TO A 120 V, 15 A CIRCUIT, AND USE A 15 A TIME-DELAYED FUSE OR CIRCUIT BIREAKER. TO AVOID SHOCK OR FIRE, IF THE EXTENSION CORD IS WORN, CUT OR DAMAGED IN ANY WAY, REPLACE IT IMMEDIATELY. ELECTRICAL INFORMATION GROUNDING INSTRUCTIONS IN THE EVENT OF A MALFUNCTION OR BREAKDOWN, grounding provides the path of least resistance for electric current, and reduces the risk of electric shock. This tool is equipped with a POLARIZED plug. The plug MUST be plugged into a matching grounded extension cord in accordance with All local codes and ordinances. DO NOT MODIFY THE PLUG PROVIDED. If it will not fit the properly grounded extension cord, have the proper outlet installed by a qualified electrician.
ELECTRICAL INFORMATION Make sure your extension cord is properly wired and in good electrical condition. Always replace a damaged extension cord or have it repaired by a qualified person before ues. Keep extension cords away from sharp objects, excessive heat and damp or wet areas. Use a separate electrical circuit for your tools. This circuit should comprise a wire of at least 12 gauge and should be protected with a 15 A time-delayed fuse.
SYMBOLS Some of the following symbols may be used on this product. Please study them and learn their meaning. Proper interpretation of these symbols will allow you to operate the product better and safer.
KNOW YOUR GRASS TRIMMER Know Your Grass Trimmer (Fig. 2) The safe use of this product requires an understanding of the information on the product and in this operator’s manual as well as a knowledge of the project you are attempting. Before use of this product, familiarize yourself with all operating features and safety rules.
ASSEMBLY Functional description This portable hand held grass trimmer is powered by an electrical motor. This trimmer features a single line bump feed head that is used for safe and efficient grass cutting. After the safety guard is installed it will protect the user during trimming operations. The following describes the functions of the operating parts.
OPERATION WARNING Danger of injury! Never use the trimmer without its safety guard. Always check the operability of the trimmer before it is used. Check that the mains voltage is the same as indicated on the rating plate. Always wear goggles when working with the trimmer. OPERATION Cutting device - advancing the trimmer line (Figs. 6) In order to advance a length of trimmer line, firmly tap the bump cap on the lawn while the trimmer is running. This will automatically advance a new length of trimmer line and trim the line to the correct length. A firm but gentle motion should be used when tapping the bump cap on the lawn. This advancing process may be repeated as often as necessary. Never try to advance the line on a hard surface such as a sidewalk or driveway.
OPERATION WARNING Danger of injury! • Do not cut moist or wet grass. • Before starting the trimmer check that the cutting head will not come into contact with stones, rubble or other foreign bodies. • Switch on the trimmer before you approach the grass that is to be cut. • Always trail the extension cord behind you. Do not pass the operating trimmer over the extension cord as the cord could be damaged. • Do not overload the trimmer during operation.
OPERATION Cleaning and maintenance WARNING Always disconnect the plug from the power source before working on the trimmer. WARNING Any work that is not described in these Instructions must be carried out by a servicing agency authorized by us. Only use original parts and be very careful with the line cutter during installation work. Danger of injury! Disconnect the plug from the power source after every use and check the grass trimmer for damaged parts.
OPERATION Disposal And Protection Of The Environment NOTE: Dispose of the trimmer, its accessories and the packaging in an environment friendly manner. Electrical grass trimmers must not be disposed of with the domestic waste Hand in a redundant trimmer to a recycling centre. The plastic and metals can then be sorted out and graded for recycling. Our Service Centre will be happy to answer any questions in this respect. Defective units returned to us will be disposed of for free.

APPRENEZ À CONNAÎTRE VOTRE COUPE-GAZON Apprenez à connaître votre coupe-gazon (Fig. 2) L’utilisation sécurisée de ce produit exige la bonne compréhension des informations et du mode d'emploi relatifs au produit, en plus d'une bonne connaissance du projet que vous entamez. Avant d’utiliser ce produit, familiarisez-vous avec toutes les fonctions d’utilisation et les règles de sécurité.
MONTAGE Description fonctionnelle Ce coupe-gazon portatif est alimenté par un moteur électrique. Ce coupe-gazon dispose d’une seule ligne avec avancement par choc de la tête, garantissant une tonte sûre et efficace. L'installation du dispositif de sécurité en place est nécessaire pour protéger l'utilisateur lors de l'exécution de la tonte. Ce qui suit décrit les fonctions des pièces fonctionnelles.
FONCTIONNEMENT AVERTISSEMENT Risque de blessure! N'utilisez jamais le coupe-gazon sans son dispositif de sécurité. Vérifiez toujours l'opérabilité du coupegazon avant son utilisation. Vérifiez que la tension du secteur est la même que celle indiquée sur la plaque signalétique. Portez toujours des lunettes étanches lorsque vous travaillez avec le coupe-gazon. REMARQUE: Une fois les parties inférieures et supérieures du coupe-gazon sont assemblées, elles ne peuvent plus être séparées. ① ③ ② Fig.
DÉPANNAGE Dispositif De Coupe – Avancement De La Ligne De Coupe (Fig. 6) Afin de faire avancer la ligne de coupe d’une certaine longueur, appuyez fermement sur l’embout antichoc contre la pelouse alors que le coupe-gazon est en marche. Ceci fera avancer automatiquement la ligne de coupe d’une nouvelle distance pour que la coupe soit d’une longueur appropriée. Adoptez un mouvement ferme mais doux lorsque vous appuyez sur l’embout antichoc contre la pelouse.
DÉPANNAGE AVERTISSEMENT Risque de blessure! • Ne tondez pas l’herbe mouillée ou humide. • Avant de commencer le travail de coupe, vérifiez que le parcours de la tête de coupe ne sera pas obstrué par des pierres, moellons ou autres corps étrangers. • Mettez le coupe-gazon en marche avant de vous approcher de l'herbe à couper. • Le cordon prolongateur doit toujours vous suivre de l'arrière. Ne passez pas le coupe-gazon en marche pardessus le cordon prolongateur car celui-ci pourra être endommagé.
DÉPANNAGE Nettoyage et entretien AVERTISSEMENT Débranchez toujours la fiche de la source d'alimentation avant d'exploiter le coupe-gazon AVERTISSEMENT Tout travail non décrit par ces instructions doit être effectué par une société de maintenance agréée par nous. N'utilisez que des pièces d'origine et prenez bien garde du cordon de coupe lors de son montage.
DÉPANNAGE Élimination et protection de l'environnement REMARQUE: Éliminez le coupe-gazon, ses accessoires et son emballage d'une manière respectueuse de l'environnement. Les coupes-gazon électriques ne doivent pas être éliminés avec les déchets ménagers. Livrez le coupe-gazon désuet à un centre de recyclage. Le plastique et les pièces métalliques peuvent ensuite être triés et classés pour leur recyclage. Notre centre de service se fera un plaisir de répondre à toute question à cet égard.
