A Crazy Coin Counting Game
Un juego de contar monedas genial • Un jeu dargent
qui fait tourner les têtes • Das verrückte Geldzähl-Spiel
Contents:
1 Game board
1 Die
100 Plastic coins (25 quarters, 25 dimes,
25 nickels, and 25 pennies)
10 Play dollar bills
4 Game markers
Object of the Game:
Be the player with the most money
at the end of the game, and win!
Setup:
Attach the spinner to the board (see assembly image).
Place one of each coin (totaling 41¢) on the “Money Bags” image at the bottom
of the board. This will be the pot.
Place the remaining coins and bills to the side of the board. This will be the
“bank,” from which players will collect and exchange money during play.
Each player chooses a game marker, snaps it into the base, and places
it on Start.
How to Play:
Each player takes turns rolling the die. The player who rolls the highest number
goes fi rst.
Roll the die and move that number of spaces on the board.
The amount shown on the space indicates how much money the player earns for
that turn. Spin the arrow on the board to see which coins can be taken from the
bank to make that amount. (For example, if the spinner indicates “no quarters,”
use any coins except quarters.)
The player then collects coins from the bank to equal the amount shown
on the space.
It is now the next player’s turn. Continue rolling the die, spinning the arrow,
and collecting coins.
If the bank runs out of a particular coin during game play, all players make
an exchange to replenish the coin needed. For instance, if the bank runs
out of nickels, players exchange their nickels for equivalent pennies, dimes,
and quarters.
Special Spaces on the Board:
$ Space
A player who lands on a $ space takes all the coins from “Money Bags”
at the bottom of the board. Replenish the pot with another 41¢ from the bank.
Change It Up! Space—A player who lands on Change It Up! exchanges coins
of lesser value for coins of greater value (or a dollar bill) from the bank. For
example, exchange 2 dimes and 1 nickel for 1 quarter. A player who can make
an exchange adds 10¢ “interest” from the bank; a player who cannot make an
exchange does not collect interest. It is now the next player’s turn.
How to Win:
The game is over when one player reaches Finish (note: players do not need to roll
the exact number to reach the fi nish space). That player takes the “Money Bags”
pot and adds it to his or her earnings. Players then count their money collections
individually. The player with the most money wins!
