How to use the mode dial

Set to the desired recording mode
Rotate the mode dial slowly to select the desired mode.
Snapshot Mode (→51)
For taking pictures with extended automatic settings.
Snapshot Plus Mode (→51)
For taking pictures with extended automatic settings while allowing certain manual
adjustments.
Program Mode (→56)
For taking pictures with automatic exposure control.
Aperture-Priority Mode (→57)
The exposure is determined by the automatically controlled shutter speed, based on the
manually set aperture value.
Shutter-Priority Mode (→58)
The exposure is determined by the automatically controlled aperture value, based on the
manually set shutter speed.
Manual Exposure Mode (→59)
The exposure is determined by the manually set aperture value and shutter speed.
Creative Video Mode (→77)
For recording videos with manual setting of aperture, shutter speed and ISO sensitivity.
You cannot take pictures.
Custom Mode (→81)
For taking pictures with previously registered settings.
Panorama Shot Mode (→64)
For taking panorama pictures.
Scene Modes (→67)
For taking pictures with automatic settings that match the subject.
Creative Control Mode (→71)
