Selective metering
For selective metering, only the metering field
from the circular metering cell on the reflector is
used.
This method is always selected if there are criti-
cal differences in brightness throughout the sub-
ject and a specific detail is to be exposed correctly.
Since the precisely defined metering field is
indicated in the viewfinder by the large central
circle with a diameter of 7mm, it is easy to
selectively measure the detail or area of the subject
that corresponds to the average grey scale value.
If you do not want these areas to be in the center
of the photograph, the use of metering memory-
lock is recommended.
The metering field is the same size in relation to
the entire image field for all lens focal lengths
and is clearly visible in the viewfinder with all
focusing screens.
