Locking focus and exposure settings with touch
operation
(Touch AF/AE function)
This function enables you activate the focus and exposure settings by touching the
desired subject on the screen.
• Perform these operations with the touch shutter function (→29) deactivated.
Touch the desired subject on which the focus and exposure
settings should be based
• When [AF Mode] is set to (Face Detection), the
Face Detection function continues to operate, but the
focus is adjusted to the subject you touched.
• When [AF Mode] is set to (AF Tracking), the
camera locks onto the subject, automatically
continues to focus on it and adjusts the exposure as
it moves.
Press the shutter release button halfway to bring the subject
into focus, and then fully to record the subject
• To deactivate the touch AF/AE function → Touch .

This function may fail to work under some recording conditions such as when the
subject is too small or the recording location is too dark.
●
This function does not work for subject at the edges of the screen.
●
During [Snapshot Mode], the camera will determine the optimal scene mode based on
the touched subject.
