Taking pictures with [Snapshot Mode]
Automatic Scene Detection
The camera recognizes many scene types based on the captured subjects, and makes
optimum settings automatically.

Depending on recording conditions, different scene types may be determined for the
same subject.

If the desired scene type is not selected, we recommend manually selecting the
appropriate scene mode.

When , or is set, Face Detection is activated, and the focus and exposure are
based on recognized faces.

About Backlight Compensation
Backlight is a condition where the decisive part of the subject is considerably darker
than the rest, resulting in underexposure of that part. Backlight compensation is
automatically activated in [Snapshot Mode], it corrects the exposure by increasing the
brightness of the entire image. When the camera detects backlight, is displayed
on the monitor. The displayed icon ( ) may not correspond to the actual backlight
condition in some cases.
About the Happy color setting
When [Color Mode] is set to [Happy], pictures are recorded with vivid coloring.
