Chapter7.Usingyourtabletwithinanenterprise

YourtabletprovidessupportforsecureaccesstocorporatenetworksandMicrosoftExchange.Additionally,

anumberofbusiness-relatedapplicationsarepreinstalledtohelpyouworkwithandmanageyour

work-relateddocuments.

Note:UsingyourtabletinyourcompanymightrequireadditionalsettingsorcongurationsfromyourIT

administrator.ContactyourITadministratorformoreinformation.

SettingupMicrosoftExchangeaccounts

MicrosoftExchangeisane-mail-basedcollaborativecommunicationserviceprovidedbyMicrosoft.Set

upaMicrosoftExchangeaccounttoconnectwithyourcompany’se-mailaccountsoyoucanuseyour

tabletforwork.

TosetupaMicrosoftExchangeaccount,dothefollowing:

1.FromthemainHomescreen,touchtheAndroidSettingsicononLenovoLaunchZone,ortouchthe

applicationsicon

fromtheactionbarandthentouchSettings.TheAndroidSettingsscreenopens.

2.TouchAccounts&sync➙Addaccount➙Corporate.

3.Entertherequiredinformationandfollowtheinstructionsonthescreentosetupyouraccount.

Note:TousetheMicrosoftExchangeaccount,yourcompany’sITadministratormightneedtosetadditional

securitypoliciesfortheaccount.ContactyourITadministratorformoreinformation.

Accessingyourcompany’sVPN

Avirtualprivatenetwork(VPN)providesaccesstotheresourcesinsideasecuredlocalnetwork,suchas

thenetworkofyourcompany.

ConguringtheVPNsettings

Toaccessyourcompany’sVPN,youmustobtainthedetailedVPNsettingsfromyourcompany’snetwork

administrator,andthensetuptheVPNonyourtabletbydoingthefollowing:

1.FromthemainHomescreen,touchtheAndroidSettingsicononLenovoLaunchZone,ortouchthe

applicationsiconfromtheactionbarandthentouchSettings.TheAndroidSettingsscreenopens.

2.TouchWireless&networks➙VPNsettings➙AddVPN.

3.TouchthetypeofVPNtoadd.ForinformationontheVPNtype,see“Wireless&networks”onpage71.

4.Onthescreenthatopens,followtheinstructionsfromyournetworkadministratortocongurethe

VPNsettings.

5.TouchtheMenuiconandtouchSave.TheVPNisaddedtotheVPNlist.

Connectingtoyourcompany’sVPN

AfteryounishconguringtheVPNsettings,connecttoitbydoingthefollowing:

1.FromthemainHomescreen,touchtheAndroidSettingsicononLenovoLaunchZone,ortouchthe

applicationsiconfromtheactionbarandthentouchSettings.TheAndroidSettingsscreenopens.
