UserecoverysolutionsinWindowsSettings.
1.ClicktheStartbuttontoopentheStartmenu.
2.ClickSettingsUpdate&securityRecovery.
3.Choosetheappropriaterecoverysolutionbyfollowingtheinstructionsonthescreen.
UseSystemRestoretorestoresystemfilesandsettingstoanearlierpoint.
1.Right-clicktheStartbuttontoopentheStartcontextmenu.
2.ClickControlPanel.ViewControlPanelusingLargeiconsorSmallicons,andthenclick
RecoveryOpenSystemRestore.
3.Followtheinstructionsonthescreen.
UsetheFileHistorytooltorestoreyourfilesfromabackup.
Note:IfyouusetheFileHistorytooltorestoreyourfilesfromabackup,ensurethatyoubackedup
yourdataearlierwiththetool.
1.Right-clicktheStartbuttontoopentheStartcontextmenu.
2.ClickControlPanel.ViewControlPanelusingLargeiconsorSmallicons,andthenclickFile
HistoryRestorepersonalfiles.
3.Followtheinstructionsonthescreen.
UsetheWindowsrecoveryenvironmentbydoingoneofthefollowing:
Afterseveralconsecutivefailedbootattempts,theWindowsrecoveryenvironmentmightstart
automatically.Followtheinstructionsonthescreentochoosetheappropriaterecoverysolution.
SelecttherecoverymediumyoucreatedearlierwiththeWindowstoolasthestartupdevice.See
“Selectingatemporarystartupdevice”onpage35.Then,followtheinstructionsonthescreen
tochoosetheappropriaterecoverysolution.
Note:Tocreatearecoverymedium,see“Goodmaintenancepractices”onpage23.
UsetherecoveryUSBkeyprovidedbyLenovotorestoretheentirestoragedrivetothefactory-default
settings.
IfthecomputercomeswiththerecoveryUSBkey,followtheinstructionsshippedwiththeUSBkey.
IfthecomputerdoesnotcomewiththerecoveryUSBkey,contacttheLenovoCustomerSupport
