1.ClicktheStartbuttontoopentheStartmenu.
2.ClickSettings➙Update&security➙Recovery.
3.Choosetheappropriaterecoverysolutionbyfollowingtheinstructionsonthescreen.
–UseSystemRestoretorestoresystemfilesandsettingstoanearlierpoint.
1.Right-clicktheStartbuttontoopentheStartcontextmenu.
2.ClickControlPanel.ViewControlPanelusingLargeiconsorSmallicons,andthenclick
Recovery➙OpenSystemRestore.
3.Followtheinstructionsonthescreen.
–UsetheFileHistorytooltorestoreyourfilesfromabackup.
Note:IfyouusetheFileHistorytooltorestoreyourfilesfromabackup,ensurethatyoubackedup
yourdataearlierwiththetool.

2.ClickControlPanel.ViewControlPanelusingLargeiconsorSmallicons,andthenclickFile
History➙Restorepersonalfiles.
3.Followtheinstructionsonthescreen.
–UsetheWindowsrecoveryenvironmentbydoingoneofthefollowing:
–Afterseveralconsecutivefailedbootattempts,theWindowsrecoveryenvironmentmightstart
automatically.Followtheinstructionsonthescreentochoosetheappropriaterecoverysolution.
–SelecttherecoverymediumyoucreatedearlierwiththeWindowstoolasthestartupdevice.See
“Selectingatemporarystartupdevice”onpage35.Then,followtheinstructionsonthescreen
tochoosetheappropriaterecoverysolution.
Note:Tocreatearecoverymedium,see“Goodmaintenancepractices”onpage23.
•UsetherecoveryUSBkeyprovidedbyLenovotorestoretheentirestoragedrivetothefactory-default
settings.
–IfthecomputercomeswiththerecoveryUSBkey,followtheinstructionsshippedwiththeUSBkey.
