Thefollowingtableprovidesinformationaboutthememorymoduleinstallationrulesthatyoushould
considerwheninstallingorremovingamemorymodule.The“X”markindicatesthememoryslotsintowhich
thememorymodulesshouldbeinstalledindifferentsituations.Tolocatethememorymoduleslots,see
“Partsonthesystemboard”onpage6.

Toreplaceamemorymodule,dothefollowing:
1.Removeanymediafromthedrivesandturnoffallconnecteddevicesandthecomputer.Then,
disconnectallpowercordsfromelectricaloutletsanddisconnectallcablesthatareconnectedtothe
computer.
2.Removethecomputercover.See“Removingthecomputercover”onpage50.
3.Removethefrontbezel.See“Replacingthefrontbezel”onpage50.
4.Removetheopticaldrive.See“Replacingtheopticaldrive”onpage52.
5.Locatethememorymoduleyouwanttoreplace.Thememorymodulesareinstalledinthememoryslots
onthesystemboard.See“Partsonthesystemboard”onpage6

6.Presstheretainingclip1inthedirectionasshownandpivotthedrivebayassemblyupwardatthe
sametime.
