Replacingthepowersupplyassembly
Attention:Donotopenyourcomputerorattemptanyrepairbeforereadingandunderstandingthe“Read

Althoughtherearenomovingpartsinyourcomputerafterthepowercordhasbeendisconnected,the
followingwarningsarerequiredforyoursafetyandproperUnderwritersLaboratories(UL)certification.
CAUTION:
Hazardousmovingparts.Keepfingersandotherbodypartsaway.
CAUTION:
Neverremovethecoveronapowersupplyoranypartthathasthefollowinglabelattached.
Hazardousvoltage,current,andenergylevelsarepresentinsideanycomponentthathasthislabel
attached.Therearenoserviceablepartsinsidethesecomponents.Ifyoususpectaproblemwith
oneoftheseparts,contactaservicetechnician.
Toreplacethepowersupplyassembly,dothefollowing:
1.Removeanymediafromthedrivesandturnoffallconnecteddevicesandthecomputer.Then,
disconnectallpowercordsfromelectricaloutletsanddisconnectallcablesthatareconnectedtothe
computer.
2.Removethecomputercover.See“Removingthecomputercover”onpage50.
3.Removethefrontbezel.See“Replacingthefrontbezel”onpage50.
4.Removetheopticaldrive.See“Replacingtheopticaldrive”onpage52.
5.Locatethepowersupplyassembly.See“Computercomponents”onpage5.
6.Presstheretainingclip1inthedirectionasshownandpivotthedrivebayassemblyupwardatthe
sametime.
