Chargingthebattery
Itisrecommendedthatyouchargethebatterywhenthebatterypowerremainingislow.Forexample:
Whenyoufindthatthepercentageoftheremainingpowerislow.
Whenthepoweralarmalertsyou.
Ifanacoutletisconvenient,connecttheacpoweradaptertothecomputerandtheacoutlet.Dependingon
thebatterysizeandthephysicalenvironment,thebatterywillbefullychargedinaboutthreetosixhours.
Thebattery-statusiconhelpsyouidentifythatthebatteryischarging,andthatthebatteryisfullycharged.
Note:Tomaximizethelifeofthebattery,thecomputerdoesnotstartrechargingthebatteryiftheremaining
powerisgreaterthan95%.
Managingthebatterypower
Toachievethebestbalancebetweenperformanceandpowersaving,adjustyourpowerplansettings
bydoingthefollowing:
1.Fromthedesktop,clickthebattery-statusiconintheWindowsnotificationareaonthetaskbar.
2.ClickMorepoweroptionsChangeplansettings.
3.Followtheinstructionsonthescreen.
YoualsocanuseLenovoprogramsforadvancedpowersettings:

ForWindows8.1:UsetheLenovoSettingsprogram.

Power-savingmodes
Thereareseveralpower-savingmodesthatyoucanuseatanytimetoconservepower.Thissection
introduceseachmodeandgivestipsontheeffectiveuseofthebatterypower.
Screen-blankmode(forWindows7only)
Thecomputerdisplayrequiresconsiderablebatterypower.Toturnoffthepowertothedisplayandmake
thecomputerenterscreen-blankmode,right-clickthebatterygaugeiconintheWindowsnotification
areaandthenselectPoweroffdisplay.
Sleepmode
Insleepmode,yourworkissavedtomemory,andthentheharddiskdriveorsolid-statedriveand
thecomputerdisplayareturnedoff.Whenyourcomputerresumestonormaloperation,yourworkis
restoredwithinseconds.
Toputyourcomputerintosleepmode,dothefollowing:
ForWindows7:ClicktheStartmenushutdownoptionandthenselectSleep.
ForWindows8.1:Movethepointertothetop-rightorbottom-rightcornerofthescreentodisplaythe
charms.ThenclickSettingsPowerSleep.
Hibernationmode
Byusingthismode,youcanturnoffyourcomputercompletelywithoutsavingfilesorexitingfromany
programsthatarerunning.Whenthecomputerentershibernationmode,allopenprograms,folders,and
filesaresavedtotheharddiskdriveorsolid-statedrive,andthenthecomputerturnsoff.
Toputthecomputerintohibernationmode,changeyourpowerplansettingsbydoingthefollowing:
