Removingaflashmediacard
Attention:
•Beforeremovingacard,stopthecardfirst.Otherwise,dataonthecardmightgetdamagedorlost.
•Donotremoveacardwhilethecomputerisinsleepmodeorhibernationmode.Otherwise,thesystem
mightnotrespondwhenyoutrytoresumeoperation.
Toremoveaflashmediacard,dothefollowing:
1.ClickthetriangulariconintheWindowsnotificationareatoshowhiddenicons.Then,right-clickthe
SafelyRemoveHardwareandEjectMediaicon.
2.Selecttheitemyouwanttoremovetostopthecard.
3.Pressthecardtoejectitfromyourcomputer.
4.Removethecardandstoreitsafelyforfutureuse.
Note:IfyoudonotremovethecardfromyourcomputerafteryouejectthecardfromtheWindows
operatingsystem,thecardcannolongerbeaccessed.Toaccessthecard,youmustremoveitonce,
theninsertitagain.
UsingtheThinkPadActivePen
SomecomputermodelsareequippedwithaThinkPadActivePen.TheThinkPadActivePenenablesyouto
inputtextinanaturalmannerwhenyouaretakingnotes,annotatingPortableDocumentFormat(PDF)files,
ordrawinggraphicstogetherwithapplicationscapableofeditingandsketching.Whenyoudraworwrite
withtheThinkPadActivePen,keepthepenperpendiculartothedisplaytoachievethebestlinequality.
UsetheThinkPadActivePeninsteadofyourfingerinconditionssuchasthefollowing:
•Youneedpreciseanddetailedinput,suchasdrawingapictureorusingthehandwritingmode.
•Toomanyelementsarecrowdedonthescreen,forexample,whenyouareplayinggames.
•Youwanttokeepyourscreenfreefromsmudges.
•Youhavelongfingernailsanditisdifficultforyoutotype.

UsingtheThinkPadActivePen
TheThinkPadActivePenisbattery-poweredandusedwithoneAAAAalkalinebattery.
ToinstallabatteryintotheThinkPadActivePen,unscrewandremovetheendcapoftheThinkPadActive
Pen,insertthebatteryintothebatterycompartmentwiththenegativepolarityfacingoutward,andthen
tightentheendcapbackintoposition.
Note:Ensurethatyouinstallthebatteryincorrectorientationwiththenegativepolarityfacingoutward.
Whenthebatterypowerrunsout,theThinkPadActivePenstopsfunctioning.Inthiscase,replacethebattery.
