Increasingmemorycapacityisaneffectivewaytomakeprogramsrunfaster.Toreplaceoraddamemory
module,readthefollowingprerequisites,andthentheinstructions.
Note:Theoperatingspeedofthememorymodulehasdependencyonthesystemconfiguration.Insome
conditions,thememorymoduleinyourcomputermightnotbeabletooperateatthemaximumspeed.
Attention:
•Beforeyoustart,touchametaltableoragroundedmetalobject.Thisactionreducesanystaticelectricity
fromyourbody.Staticelectricitycoulddamagethememorymodule.
•Donottouchthecontactedgeofthememorymodule.Otherwisethememorymodulemightgetdamaged.
Toreplacethememorymodule,dothefollowing:
1.Disconnecttheacpowerfromthecomputerandturnoffthecomputer.Closethecomputerdisplay
andturnthecomputerover.
2.Removetheremovablebattery.See“Replacingtheremovablebattery”onpage115.
3.Removethebottomcover.See“Replacingthebottomcover”onpage118.
4.Openthelatchesonbothsidesofthememoryslotatthesametime1,andthenremovethememory
module

Note:AMylarfilmmightcoverthememorymodule.Toaccessthememorymodule,openthefilmfirst.
5.Insertthememorymoduleintothememoryslotatanangleofabout20degrees1.Pivotthememory
moduledownwarduntilitsnapsintoplace2.Ensurethatthememorymoduleisfirmlyinstalledin
thememoryslotandcannotbemovedeasily.
