Usingthecolorsensor

Somecomputermodelsareequippedwithacolorsensor.Thecolorsensorenablesyoutomeasureand

adjustthecoloraccuracyofyourcomputerdisplay.Therefore,acolorimageorgraphicisrenderedasclose

aspossibletoitsoriginalintent.ThecolorproﬁleforThinkPadcomputerdisplaysispreinstalledonyour

computer.Ifyouwanttoinstalladifferentcolorproﬁle,gotohttp://www.lenovo.com/ThinkPadDrivers.

Tousethecolorsensor,dothefollowing:

•ForWindows7:OpentheStartmenu,clickAllPrograms➙X-Rite➙PANTONEColorCalibrator,

andthenfollowtheinstructionsonthescreen.

•ForWindows10:OpentheStartmenu,clickAllapps➙X-Rite➙PANTONEColorCalibrator,and

thenfollowtheinstructionsonthescreen.

Whenthecolorsensorisinuse,thecolor-sensorindicatoronthecomputerouterlidblinkstwiceatregular

intervals.Whenthecolormeasuringandadjustmentﬁnishes,thecolor-sensorindicatorstayson.

Afteryouusethecolorsensorfortheﬁrsttime,acalibrationproﬁleECCM2SensorData.datisgenerated.Back

upthiscalibrationproﬁleonanexternalstoragedeviceincasethatboththecolorsensorandtheinternal

storagedevicearereplaced.

TolocatetheDATﬁle,dothefollowing:

•ForWindows7:GotoC:\ProgramData\X-Rite\ECCM-2.

•ForWindows10:ClickThisPC➙Documents➙X-Rite.

Ifyourcomputercomeswithacolorsensor,thedisplayprovidesacolorproﬁlethatcanworkwiththe

MicrosoftImageColorManagement(ICM)function.Ifthegraphicssoftwareyouareusingiscompatible

withICM,youcandisplayacolorimageonyourmonitorandmatchitwiththesamequalityoneonanother

device,suchasascanneroraprinter.

FormoreinformationabouttheMicrosoftICM,refertotheWindowshelpinformationsystem.

UsinganExpressCard,amediacard,orasmartcard

YourcomputerhasanExpressCardslotandamedia-cardslot.Dependingonthemodel,yourcomputer

mightalsohaveasmart-cardslot.
