7.TypethecurrentsupervisorpasswordintheEnterCurrentPasswordfield.thenleavetheEnter
NewPasswordfieldblank,andpressEntertwice.
8.IntheChangeshavebeensavedwindow,pressEnter.
9.PressF10tosavechangesandexittheThinkPadSetupprogram.
Howtoremovetheharddiskpassword
Attention:IfUseronlymodeisselectedandtheuserharddiskpasswordhasbeenforgottenandcannotbe
madeavailabletotheservicetechnician,neitherLenovonorLenovoauthorizedservicetechniciansprovide
anyservicestoresettheuserharddiskpasswordsortorecoverdatafromthesolid-statedrive.T oputthe
systembacktooperationalstatus,theonlyLenovoandLenovo-authorizedservicesolutionwouldbeto
replacethesolid-statedrivewithascheduledfee.
Toremoveauserharddiskpasswordthathasbeenforgotten,whenthesupervisorpasswordandmaster
harddiskpasswordareknown,dothefollowing:
1.Turnonthecomputer.
2.WhentheLenovologoisdisplayed,immediatelypressF1toentertheThinkPadSetupprogram.
3.SelectSecurity.
4.SelectPassword.
5.SelectHard-diskxpassword,wherexistheletteroftheharddiskdrive.Apop-upwindowopens.
6.SelectMasterharddiskpassword.
7.TypethecurrentmasterharddiskpasswordintheEnterCurrentPasswordfield.ThenleavetheEnter
NewPasswordfieldblank,andpressEntertwice.
8.PressF10.
9.PressF10tosavechangesandexittheThinkPadSetupprogram.Theuserharddiskpasswordandthe
masterharddiskpasswordhavebeenremoved.
Powermanagement
Toreducepowerconsumption,thecomputerhasthreepowermanagementmodes:screenblank,sleep,
andhibernation.
Screenblankmode(fortheWindows7operatingsystemonly)
Ifthetimesetonthe“Turnoffmonitor”timerintheoperatingsystemexpires,theLCDbacklightturnsoff.
