chargethebatteryinanyofthefollowingsituations:
–WhenthebatteryiconintheWindowsnotificationareashowsalowpercentageofbatterypower
remaining
–Whenthebatteryhasnotbeenusedforalongtime
Usingthebatterypower
Beforeyouusethebatterypower,ensurethatyoureadthefollowingnotices:
•“Generalbatterynotice”onpagex
•“Noticeforbuilt-inrechargeablebattery”onpagex
Itishardtopredictthebatterylifebetweencharges.Differentcomputercomponentsconsumepowerat
differentrates.Somecomponentsconsumepowerveryquickly,forexample,thecomputerdisplay,the
microprocessor,andthewirelessradios.Themoreyouusethepower-intensivecomponents,thefasteryour
computerconsumespower.
Thebatteryisaconsumablesupply.Ifyourbatterybeginstodischargetooquickly,youmightconsider

Checkingthebatterystatus
Moveyourpointertothebattery-statusiconintheWindowsnotificationareatocheckthebatterystatus.
Thebattery-statusicondisplaysthepercentageofbatterypowerremainingandhowlongyoucanuse
yourcomputerbeforeyoumustchargethebattery.
Therateatwhichyouusebatterypowerdetermineshowlongyoucanusethebatteriesofyourcomputer
betweencharges.Becauseofdifferentuserhabitsandneeds,itisdifficulttopredicthowlongabattery
chargewilllast.Therearetwomainfactors:
•Howmuchenergyisstoredinthebatterywhenyoubegintowork.
•Thewayyouuseyourcomputer.Forexample:
–Howoftenyouaccessthestoragedrive
–Howbrightyoumakethecomputerdisplay
–Howoftenyouusethewirelessfeatures
Chargingthebatteries
Itisrecommendedthatyouchargethebatterywhenthebatterypowerremainingislow.Forexample:
•Whenyoufindthatthepercentageoftheremainingpowerislow
•Whenthepoweralarmalertsyou

Dependingonthebatterysizeandthephysicalenvironment,thebatterywillbefullychargedinaboutthree
tosixhours.Youcancheckthebatterychargingstatusatanytimethroughthebattery-statusiconin
theWindowsnotificationarea.
Note:Tomaximizethelifeofthebattery,thecomputerdoesnotstartrechargingthebatteryiftheremaining
powerisgreaterthan95%.
