changed.

Tipsonusingtheharddiskpasswords

•YoucansettheminimumlengthofaharddiskpasswordthroughtheSecuritymenu.

•Ifyousetaharddiskpasswordofoversevencharacters,thesolid-statedrivecanbeusedonlywitha

computerthatcanrecognizeaharddiskpasswordofoversevencharacters.Ifyoutheninstallthe

solid-statedriveinacomputerthatcannotrecognizeaharddiskpasswordthatcontainsmorethan

sevencharacters,youcannotaccessthedrive.

•Recordyourpasswordandstoreitinasafeplace.Ifyouforgettheuserharddiskpassword,orboth

userandmasterharddiskpasswords,Lenovocannotresetyourpasswordsorrecoverdatafromthe

solid-statedrive.YoumusttakeyourcomputertoaLenovoreselleroramarketingrepresentativetohave

thedrivereplaced.Proofofpurchaseisrequired,andafeewillbechargedforpartsandservice.

Note:TheeDrivestoragedrivesorTrustedComputingGroup(TCG)Opal-compliantstoragedrivesprovide

self-encryptioncapabilitiestosecureyourdata.

•IfaTCGOpal-compliantstoragedriveandaTCGOpalmanagementsoftwareprogramareinstalled,and

theTCGOpalmanagementsoftwareprogramisactivated,theharddiskpasswordisnotavailable.

•IfaneDrivestoragedriveisinstalledinyourcomputer,andyourcomputerispreinstalledwiththe

Windows10operatingsystem,theharddiskpasswordisnotavailable.

Toprotectpasswordsfromunauthorizedsecurityattacks,refertothefollowingtipstomaximizesecurity:

•Setapower-onpasswordaswellasaharddiskpasswordforyourinternalstoragedevice.Refertothe

proceduresin“Power-onpassword”onpage51and“Harddiskpasswords”onpage53.Forsecurity,
